Tesla App on Apple Watch Coming? Elon Musk Welcomes the Idea
06 March 2024
The Tesla app’s availability was on the Android and iOS smartphones only, but an Apple Watch experience may be coming soon from the company. This much has been confirmed by Tesla’s CEO and co-founder, Elon Musk, in his earlier response to fans asking for it on his social media platform, integrating the renowned app features into the wearable.
Tesla App for Apple Watch is Coming says Musk
A simple, one-word response from Elon Musk on X today to a Tesla owner signaled a new experience for the Tesla app’s arrival to the Apple Watch in the future. This was because a Tesla owner narrated her experience, wishing for the Tesla app to be available on the Apple Watch for unfavorable situations.
While there was no further information shared by Musk, it may be in the works from the Tesla team as porting the iPhone app to the Apple Watch is a manageable process.
Apple is known for offering quick steps in transforming an iPhone app to one that is available on the watchOS and the Swift UI for its use on the wearable.

Apple Watch Convenience for Tesla
The Tesla EV owner who suggested the Tesla app’s arrival to the Apple Watch claimed that her iPhone ran out of battery and this led to her being locked out of her car. And while there is another way to do so, she claims that an Apple Watch experience would be handy to unlock the car, and this would eliminate the need to charge her phone to get it to open the EV or use the key card that Tesla provides to owners.
It is unknown what functions Musk and Tesla would give the Apple Watch apart from unlocking it, as there are plenty of app controls like the Sentry or Summon, among others.
Elon Musk and Tesla
Elon Musk still has his sights on Tesla, and the renowned billionaire and CEO is planning to develop a new Dojo supercomputer for the company with new NVIDIA and AMD chips. These processors are also known as AI chips, and for a long time, Tesla has relied on AI to help develop its autonomous driving features for its Tesla EVs through Dojo.
The latest upgrade to the Tesla app was the integration of the ultrawideband (UWB) support for the iOS platform that would act as a better phone key feature for electric cars. This effectively increases the range and connections of the smartphone to the car, upgrading from Bluetooth which may be unreliable at times and has limited range for the car functions to work.
More experiences are expected from Tesla as electric vehicle adoption is growing, with these cars being a massive part of transportation and everyday life. A possible Apple Watch experience may arrive, offering the Tesla app which would help replicate selected iPhone functions to the app, and this would become handy when the device is nearly out of juice, was locked in the EV, or simply not wanting to use it.
