It\u2019s long been rumored that the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity would be the largest ever seen in an iPhone, with a report back in February suggesting that it\u00a0could get close to 5200mAh<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The same leaker has now reported on the iPhone 18 Pro capacity and is suggesting that we will see only very modest gains over last year\u2019s model \u2026<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station had to say about the iPhone 18 Pro Max back in February:<\/p>\n

Judging from supply chain information, the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro Max Chinese version will reach 5000mAh, and the maximum capacity of the international version is 5100-5200mAh.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They have\u00a0today reported<\/a>\u00a0on supply chain indications for the non-Max Pro model.<\/p>\n

iPhone 18 Pro China version of the battery capacity is 4056mAh, the U.S. version is 4288mAh.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For the US model, this compares to 3988mAh for the iPhone 17 Pro, which would be an extremely modest gain compared to\u00a0last year\u2019s jump of 19%<\/a>\u00a0over the iPhone 16 Pro.<\/p>\n

Battery capacity alone doesn\u2019t tell the full story, however. This year\u2019s Pro models will have an A20 Pro chip built on TSMC\u2019s latest 2nm process, which should make it notably more power efficient. If the numbers do prove accurate, we\u2019ll need to wait for battery life tests to reveal the real world impact.<\/p>\n
