TEMPO.CO<\/b>,\u00a0Jakarta<\/b>\u00a0– \u00a0Apple<\/a>‘s iPhone 16 series will be available in Indonesia from April 11, it said on Wednesday, after Jakarta lifted a ban on its sale following the company’s more than $300 million investment plan.<\/p>\n

The Southeast Asian country of about 280 million people banned\u00a0iPhone 16<\/a>\u00a0sales last year as the company failed to meet composition requirements for parts to be locally made.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the communications ministry said on Friday, March 14, 2025, that the government has issued telecommunications permits for five different models of Apple’s iPhone 16 series.<\/p>\n

This permit issue came a week after the government issued local content certificates for 20 Apple products.<\/p>\n

The five telecommunication certificates were for iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.<\/p>\n

The issuance of the permits follows last month’s announcement of more than US$300 million investments by Apple in the archipelago, including in plants making components for its products, and a research and development center.<\/p>\n
