It is a real one\u00a0<strong>smartwatch<\/strong>\u00a0capable of accurately measuring blood glucose from the wrist.<\/p>\n<p>The device scans the blood through a small\u00a0<strong>spectrometer<\/strong>\u00a0which, of course, is capable of measuring other values \u200b\u200bsuch as heart rate and ECG. The secret? The startup has patented spectroscopy materials built into the smartwatch and its strap.<\/p>\n<p>To use it, the wearer simply activates the smart watch and then monitoring from the menu and, after about 20 seconds, the data will pop up. Quantum says it plans to sell its hardware to insurers and healthcare professionals, as well as develop a platform for\u00a0<strong>big data<\/strong>\u00a0to collect and review information generated by patients who will wear the device.<\/p>\n<p>Even the same<strong>\u00a0Apple<\/strong>\u00a0(as well as other companies) has worked on a similar technology, with a lot \u2013 according to rumors \u2013 of an ad hoc laboratory. In 2018,\u00a0<em>AppleInsider<\/em>\u00a0found a patent filed by the \u201cmoriscata apple\u201d relating to a device with absorption spectroscopy to monitor blood glucose levels.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, however, there is no one on the market\u00a0<strong>commercial standard<\/strong>\u00a0reliable based on this technology.
